Privacy policy

What we collect

• When you buy: your name, email, phone number, business name, billing and install address, Mac model and preferred install days.
• Payment details: handled by Stripe through our checkout provider, ThriveCart. We never see or store your full card number.
• When you book a demo: the answers you give in our short survey and the details you enter in Calendly.
• When you activate the software: your email and a license record tied to your Mac, stored with our licensing provider, Keygen.
• When you comment on a shared video: your name, email and comment. Your name and comment are visible to anyone with that video's link. Your email is never shown publicly.

How we use it

To process your order, schedule and carry out your install, activate your license, provide support, and email you about your purchase. We may also send occasional updates about StudioControl, and you can opt out at any time.

Shared videos and comments

Videos shared with StudioControl are hosted by Mux and can be watched by anyone with the link. When you comment, your email is shared with the person who sent you the video, who may follow up with you. We also use it to email you when someone replies to your comment, and every one of those emails has a link to stop them. To have a comment or your details removed, email hello@studiocontrol.io.

Install footage and testimonials

For founding installs, we film the setup to make tutorials and may share your testimonial, name and logo, as agreed at checkout. We'll never show anything that's on your screen, or any of your recordings, without asking first. You can ask us to remove your testimonial or logo at any time.

Who we share it with

Only the services that help us run StudioControl: ThriveCart and Stripe for checkout and payments, Keygen for licensing, Calendly for scheduling, Mux for video hosting, Netlify for this website and comments, and our email providers. Each handles your data under its own privacy policy. We don't sell or rent your information.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@studiocontrol.io. We keep order records as long as tax and accounting rules require.
